Portugal Golden Visa Overview
Portugal Resident Permit for Investment Activities (ARI), also known as the Golden Residence Permit Programme (GRP), came into effects on October, 2012 in order to attract foreign investors. As per the policy, the Investment requirements should be atleast Euro 500,000 in Real Estate. There is no restrictions on the type or location on real estate properties. This policy was amend in September, 2015, which indicates that, the investor can invest in real estate with more than 30 years contruction time with a value of atleast Euro 350,000. The Portugal Golden Visa allows visa free access to all Schengen area, & can able to reside in any Schengen member country upto 90 days in every six months.
Investment Criteria
⦁ Capital transfer of at least €1 million into Portugal bank account & maintain it for 5 years.
⦁ Creation of at least 10 fulltime jobs in Portugal.
⦁ Acquire real estate property in Portugal worth at least €500,000
⦁ Acquire at least 30 years old real estate of the value of at least €350,000 in Portuguese urban regeneration areas.
⦁ Investment of at least €350,000 in approved fund in Portugal.
⦁ Investments of €250,000 or more in support of Portuguese artistic, heritage & culture.
Who can apply:
Main Applicant
⦁ At least 18 years old and above
⦁ Non-EU/EEA Citizen
⦁ Purchase a personal health insurance
⦁ No criminal history
⦁ Purchase a property
Dependents
⦁ The legal spouse of the main applicant.
⦁ Children of the applicant and/or spouse under 18
years of age
⦁ Children above 18 years of age must be unmarried, financially dependent and studying.
⦁ Dependent parents of the main applicant or of their spouse.
Portugal Golden Visa advantages
⦁ Visa-free access to all Schengen member countries. Allowed 90 days’ legal stay in every 6 months.
⦁ Residency requirements is less. Required only 14 days continuously or cumulatively stay during the two years in Portugal for Golden Visa renewal.
⦁ Can include family members up-to three generation.
⦁ Free education at public schools & subsidized education in private school.
⦁ Eligible to apply Citizenship or PR after 5 years.
⦁ Do business or work in Portugal.
⦁ Can rent out properties for additional income.
